The Last Garrison are an alternative-rock band that hail from Dundalk, Ireland. Originally formed in early 2003, the band soon began making a name for themselves on the northeast music circuit, playing a number of well-received gigs in venues such as the Spirit Store, AOH, Voodoo Lounge & Eamon Doran's.

Despite having gone through several personnel changes since the band's inception in 2003, founding members Trevor Callan & Patrick Connor have remained at the core of The Last Garrison's lineup – a lineup that had been cut short due to the unfortunate departure of their existing guitarist & bassist, which ultimately led to a complete 6 month hiatus in late 2004. Despite events that threatened the demise of the band, both Trevor & Patrick agreed there was too much untapped potential to let the band break up forever and began writing & rehearsing once more in April 2005. This, of course, means that The Last Garrison have now returned - refreshed, invigorated & eager to start creating music again.

Influences in the band vary widely from member to member, a fact that often surfaces in their music as each draws on their own sources of inspiration, but perhaps most notably consist of bands such as Pearl Jam, Incubus, Idlewild & Death Cab For Cutie, to name but a few. However, under the surface lie more eclectic and diverse influences that can often be heard when examined closer. Drawing subtley from their individual influences but with an overall sound that is distinctly their own, the band combine dynamics and youthful energy together with a strong melodic sensibility, to forge a refreshing and original rock sound. Added to this is an absence of any pretenses involved in the band's writing, regardless of what is trendy, fashionable, or whatever happens to be appeasing the music industry at any given moment.

The band recently released their eponymously-titled debut EP in September 2005 and all 5 tracks from the EP are available free for full download from the Music section of their website. Recorded over the summer of 2005 in Dundalk’s Tumbleweed Studios, the EP has been very warmly received so far and is definitely a sign of good things to come. At present, The Last Garrison are working on promoting their debut EP and are concentrating on finding a solid line-up to complete the band's sound with a view to gigging again in the very near future.
